Marc J. Friedman, specializes in working with retailers to understand and enhance their positioning, strengths and opportunities within the retail marketplace. He also works with investment firms to examine potential acquisitions position from a consumer and competitive perspective. Marc's experience in retail and investment research helps provide retailers the insight to develop, implement and communicate successful retail strategies.
Prior to joining McMillan|Doolittle in 2000, Marc compiled 20 years of experience in the retail and asset management industries. This experience included management assignments in strategic planning, consumer research, direct marketing and customer service. He has been responsible for working with merchants in developing new retail strategies and concepts as well as implementing retail advertising, licensing and branding strategies. His asset management background provides the ability to help retailers view themselves from investors' perspectives. Marc has completed research and analysis assignments, and worked with clients in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia. His management of unique uses of market research has been profiled in the press around the world. Marc received his BA in Sociology and MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. Additionally, he received an MA in Marketing from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).
Marc resides in Burlingame, CA with his wife and two daughters. Twice he has been elected to the local school board. Additionally, he teaches marketing management and international business at the Keller Graduate School of Management where he is a senior faculty member.
