Anne Brouwer is a Senior Partner with extensive retail management and consulting experience. She has worked with numerous clients on retail strategy, developing new concepts, the customer experience and operational improvements. Anne leads McMillanDoolittle’s softlines consulting practice, and also works extensively in home, hardlines, and automotive segments, working with retailers, brands and suppliers.
Clients include Cabela’s, Best Buy, The Great Indoors, La-Z-Boy, Lowe’s, Nike, Eddie Bauer, T-Mobile, Garmin, PPG, Calumet Photo, General Motors, Audi, Firestone, Mall of America, Lands’ End, Limited Brands, international specialty retailers, The Navy Exchange, Footaction, Curves International, Federated (now Macy’s), JC Penney, Nordstrom, Air Terminal Gifts, Marcus Hotels and Resorts, and Zondervan. She has also worked with retail suppliers, service providers, and investors, helping them assess opportunities and develop strategies that better serve their customers and clients.
Prior to joining McMillanDoolittle, Anne held senior executive positions with Accenture, Carson Pirie Scott & Co., and Federated Department Stores, after starting her career in specialty retail. Previous responsibilities included strategy development, program management and process design, and senior retail merchandising and store operations management.
Anne is the author of a white paper on “Brands Going Retail” and a McMillanDoolittle Retail Watch three-part series entitled “Bringing Effective Science to the Art of Merchandising”. In addition, she is often quoted on consumer and retail trends and is a frequent presenter at industry and client conferences. Anne holds memberships in the National Retail Federation, serving on the Associate member Advisory Board (AMAC), the Two/Ten Footwear Foundation, and Fashion Group International - Chicago (FGI), having served on the FGI and FGF Foundation boards.
